June and July are flying by at a rate of knots and I find my head spinning slightly at all the exciting developments, plans and ideas we're hatching at 2nd Birthday.... we've also had our first 2nd birthday handfasting (of sorts) in the stone circle at glastonbury - with our most noble elder Rob presiding, supported by an amazing musical ensemble of the rest of the 2nd birthday team... we even had cake.
Glastonbury is a riot of colour, beats, rhythms, basslines, costumes, glitter, dancing, mobbing, walking and walking and walking, and a flurry of sights only to be found in that corner of Somerset for that week of the year- and I loved it. We traipsed the entire site in a state of awe and wonder- at the fierce fire forged creations in Trash City - hid from the scary body-socked stiled people and found refuge in carosel cafes in Shangri-La - danced like lemons to some increadible live music from legends such as Roisin Murphy; a very spritely Jimmy Cliff; Alabama 3; Joan Armatrading; Horace Andy with Massive Attack; and got blown away by new sound poineers of the likes of Battles; Mystery Jets and hundreds more sounds that washed over us, punctuating our adventures .... not to mention how much we loved tripping over some of the most amazing installations, artwork, living sculptures, performances, happenings, all of which created unique experiences for the 150,000 people there.
